The Lair sets a new standard in private, self contained luxury. This contemporary retreat reaches out over the land; the sweeping form drawing light and air into and through the building as the moods of Tasmania pour through each room. Against a backdrop of 40 unspoilt acres of forest running down to the audible break of the ocean, we perched The Lair between the forest and the sea, laying it respectfully along the contours of the land; each and every room immersed in the view. Retreat to one of a pair of identical suites at either end of The Lair, uncluttered yet sumptuously appointed. Stretch out on emperor size leather beds, draw the blinds and dream untroubled dreams. Upon waking spread out in the generous bathrooms, with sensuous curved glass, stone baths, porcelain tiled walls and floors and stunning fixtures and fittings. Soak up the view with the sea and the sky as your companions. Luxurious and sublime relaxation; every detail has your comfort in mind. Heated floors, heated ceilings; treat your bare feet on the sensual oiled black acacia floors. Draw the curtains and light the fire... Immerse yourself in tranquility in the voluminous living room dining/kitchen. Drift into the sheltered courtyard and sink into the spa, while a steak sizzles next to you in the outdoor kitchen. Browse the library of books and games. If you must keep in touch, boot up the 24' iMac. Play some favourites through the audiophile quality sound system or plug your iPod into the dock (or into the spa pool). Kick back with Austar or a DVD on any of the three plasma screens. We offer guests delicious breakfast provisions, a sumptuously appointed dry pantry and some wonderful Champagne and oysters to set the mood. The Lair accommodates a maximum of 4 guests in two separate suites. We welcome private functions of up to 12 but cannot accommodate guests under the age of 14.
