The Tahune AirWalk is an exhilarating nature based tourism attraction located only 1.5 hours south of Hobart. Visitors can explore the treetops of the Tahune Forest Reserve along a steel airwalk. The 597-metre walk takes you through the canopy of some of Tasmania's famous trees including celery top pine, sassafras, myrtle, blackwood and towering stringybarks. The highlight of the AirWalk is a 48-metre cantilever, which provides breathtaking views of the forests, mountains and the confluence of the Huon and Picton Rivers. Walking tracks on the forest floor allow visitors to get up close to nature. The River's Edge walking track takes visitors across two swinging bridges spanning the Huon and Picton rivers. Those seeking a more adventurous experience can participate in the 'eagle glide' hang glide through the forest reserve or raft along the Huon River. The visitor centre allows visitors to enjoy a refreshing beverage or meal and has a range of locally made craft and produce available for purchase. Barbecue facilities are also available on site.
