Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village is nestled in a secluded bush setting in the Cradle Valley on the edge of the World Heritage listed Cradle Mountain/Lake St Clair National Park. The Village offers 45 cottages and chalets set in small clusters sited to maximise your privacy and comfort.
Recently refurbished, the village also has 20 premium spa cottages and chalets offering luxury accommodation in an elegant contemporary style. The ultimate bush huts! The private, cosy, self-contained one and two bedroom cottages have fully equipped kitchens, satellite television, direct STD/ISD telephone, private balcony’s and parking at the front door, premium spa cottages have their own BBQ’s on a private deck or mix with other quests at the communal BBQ’s, guest lounge with bar facilities, laundry or play area for children.
Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village also boasts a contemporary restaurant (opened late 2013) featuring modern Tasmanian cuisine with diners able to enjoy views through temperate rainforest along the Cradle Valley to Cradle Mountain. Hellyer’s Restaurant has been crafted using local timber and stone. A large central stone fireplace will comfort guests needing to relax and recharge after a day on the tracks exploring the local wilderness and wildlife.
The restaurant seats 70 guests and a private room forms part of the restaurant which can be used by up to 20 delegates for meetings or private dining. The menu is naturally focused on local product, featuring some of the best quality local produce from Tasmania and mainland Australia. The menu is complemented by a wine list featuring the best of Tasmania’s fine cool climate wines.
Gourmet breakfast hampers are available by pre-order, and guest can prepare from the comfort of their self contained Cottage or Chalet.
Hellyer’s Restaurant is open for dinner 7 days a week from 5pm, and guests are invited to enjoy a drink from the bar in the guest lounge from 4pm daily.
When you step out onto your private balcony you may will come face to face with a wallaby, wombat, pademelon, possum, currawong or enjoy a relaxing walk through temperate bush – it’s all part of the wilderness experience.
