As local specialists we feel it only fair to let you in on one of the best weekend experiences in Tasmania, maybe even Australia!
Combine quality accommodation in a beautiful heritage listed mansion in Battery Point, a visit to the Salamanca Markets, a trip to the Museum of Old and New Art with an amazing (never to be forgotten) Seafood Seduction cruise to Bruny Island and surrounds.
If you’re looking for a weekend of contrasts, culture, seafood, local wineries and relaxation then this is for you – no car required either!
Arrive Hobart airport Friday afternoon (or earlier), transfer to your Harbourview King Suite accommodation at Lenna of Hobart for three nights comfort and convenience. Lenna is located right next to the famous Salamanca Market which will be bustling as you arise on Saturday morning.
Wander the markets before catching the MONA ROMA ferry from the waterfront to MONA. The Museum of Old and New Art is only a 30 minute ferry ride up the Derwent River. Entry is included to the museum and lunch in their restaurant is to be enjoyed with your choice of Moorilla Wines or their very own Moo Brew boutique beer. Try the Pilsener or Pale Ale! NB: Ferry must be booked direct
Return to Hobart via ferry late afternoon and explore the varied waterfront restaurants. Bookings advised on weekends. We can even help with suggestions.
Customs House Hotel – meet the locals
The Glass House – dine on the water! Well almost!
These are just a few of our favourites.
Sunday begins with a short walk to Franklin Wharf to meet the team from Pennicott Wilderness Journeys in readiness for your full day Tasmanian Seafood Seduction cruise. Click here to view all inclusions but if you love pristine wilderness, and the freshest of Tasmania’s premium quality seafood accompanied by cool climate wines, beers, ciders and more then buckle up! This is an experience you’ll never forget!
Cruise returns at 430pm – and you’ll only need a snack for dinner Sunday night.
Before departing Monday we suggest a walk to Salamanca and waterfront, shop at the nearby whisky outlets, maybe a lunch in the Coal River Valley, near historic Richmond before heading to the airport. For one last seafood indulgence you can even pick up an Oyster “travel pack” at Barilla Bay Oysters just near Hobart airport.
