Tarraleah Estate is located in Tarraleah, a picturesque town hidden in the Tasmanian Highlands. Rich with history from its early days as a Hydro town, Tarraleah Estate now offers a range of accommodation options.
Stay in the original 1930s Art Deco Architects Cottages with polished floorboards, fireplaces, Tasmanian handcrafted furniture and a fantastic view. Three bedrooms, fully quipped kitchen, laundry and two new bathrooms. Engineers Cottages are similar in style but have a town outlook. All have TVs, fireplaces and ample living space suitable for two-six people.
The Scholar’s House provides comfortable hotel rooms ideal for travelers on a budget. Rooms are tastefully furnished with bedroom and ensuite downstairs and a mezzanine relaxation area located upstairs via internal stairs. Each Scholars room has access to a fully equipped communal kitchen and dining room for those looking to self-cater.
During your stay play a round of golf, venture out on a wildlife walk, seeek out the water fall, book onto a fishing tour, whisky tasting, mountain bike ride or kayaking adventure. Stop in at the Highlander Arms Restaurant and Bar or grab a coffee at Teez Cafe.
***IMPORTANT TO NOTE*** Due to the remote location each year from May – October all Scholars House rooms, the Highlander Arms Restaurant and Teez Cafe close due to winter schedule. All Cottages will still be available during this time but guests will be required to self cater using the existing kitchen facilities in these room types as no meal options will be available. It is important to note that there is no general grocer in Tarraleah itself and guests will need to source supplies outside of the township in either Ouse, Queenstown or Bronte Park.
